Der T172 wurde von 1961-67 gebaut. Mit einem 17 PS starken Motor, Zweigang-Getriebe, einem neuen hydraulisch betätigten Ausleger in Blechbauweise sowie Zwillingsbereifung an der Hinterachse war er eine Weiterentwicklung des T170. Der filigrane, detailliert bedruckte Bausatz gibt das Vorbild einer Bahnmeisterei wieder. Durch die lenkbare Vorderachse, den um 360° drehbaren
Aufbau sowie dem in der Neigung variablen Ausleger, welcher wahlweise mit Haken, Zinken- oder Schalengreifer ausgerüstet wurde, lassen sich authentische Szenen nachgestalten. Auch eine Verladung auf Flachwagen ist möglich - eine Einfach-Bereifung für die Antriebsachse liegt ebenfalls bei.
