1921 kam es wohl zu dem historisch ersten Putschversuch aus der Luft, als der 1918 abgedankte, ehemals österreichische Kaiser Karl I. versuchte, zumindest seine ungarische Königskrone zu retten bzw. zurückzuerobern. Aus dem Schweizer Exil flogen er und die ehemalige Kaiserin Zita mit dieser Junkers F13 der Schweizerischen Ad Astra von Zürich nach Budapest. Der Putschversuch misslang, doch das Flugzeug überlebte und ist heute als besonderes Ausstellungsstück im Ungarischen Verkehrsmuseum in Budapest.
