Trotz ihrer geringen Größe beteiligen sich die Luxemburger Streitkräfte regelmäßig bei internationalen Einsätzen der NATO, beispielsweise im ehemaligen Jugoslawien oder Afghanistan, sowie bei humanitären Einsätzen. Luxemburg steuert eine einzelne A400M zur neu aufgestellten binationalen Einheit mit Belgien bei, mit der Transportkapazitäten geschaffen werden, die flexibel nach Bedarf von beiden Ländern abgerufen werden können.
