1990 erstmals von einer Boeing B-52 aus gestartet, werden mit der dreistufigen Pegasus-Rakete vor allem kleine Satelliten mit einem Gewicht von bis zu 4,5 Tonnen in eine erdnahe Umlaufbahn gebracht. Das „Stargazer“ genannte Trägerflugzeug ist die einzige von einst 250 TriStars, die noch im aktiven Einsatz ist. Sie beschließt die dreiteilige Herpa-Serie zum 50. Jubiläum des Lockheed Dreistrahlers.
