436th Military Airlift Wing, Dover Air Base – 69-0014

Das beeindruckende Flugzeug wurde im Original 1971 von Lockheed geliefert, der Dienst auf der Luftwaffenbasis Dover begann 1973. Im folgenden Jahr unternahm die US Air Force einen einzigartigen Test, als diese C-5A eine Interkontinentalrakete im Flug absetzte. Gut vierzig Jahre nach Dienstantritt endete der Einsatz des Flugzeugs 2013, das fortan im ebenfalls in Dover angesiedelten Air Mobility Command Museum als wohl größtes Exponat zu bestaunen ist. Neu sind die General Electric TF39-Triebwerke und die Ausführung in der ursprünglichen weiß-grauen Bemalung. Metallfahrwerke und Gummibereifung sorgen für einen sicheren Stand dieses aus Resin gefertigten Modells.
