1970 begann bei der Interflug das Jetzeitalter auf der Langstrecke. Mit Einführung der vierstrahligen IL-62 konnten nun weiter gelegene Ziele wie Kuba oder Vietnam direkt angeflogen werden, die die IL-18, bis dato das Flaggschiff der Airline, nicht erreichen konnte. Ende der 1980er Jahre waren nicht weniger als 13 Exemplare im Einsatz.

Hinweis: Stützräder am Heck können ein- und ausgefahren dargestellt werden.
