Mit dieser ersten von bald drei A321-Frachtern betreibt Lufthansa Cargo zum ersten Mal seit den 1990er Jahren Flugzeuge für die Kurz- und Mittelstrecke. Ursprünglich 2008 für die österreichische Niki gebaut, wurde diese A321 von Lufthansa Technik zum Frachter umgebaut und unterstützt seit Anfang 2022 die Pläne zum Ausbau des Europa-Netzwerks der Cargo-Sparte der Kranich-Airline.
