Am 24. Mai 2023 hat die deutsche Fluggesellschaft ihr 600. Airbus-Flugzeug, die A321neo mit der Kennung D-AIEQ, in Empfang genommen. Lufthansa ist der größte Empfänger von Airbus-Flugzeugen in der Geschichte. Um diesen Meilenstein zu feiern, wurde eine große silberfarbene "600" auf die Rumpfseiten der A321neo aufgebracht. Seit 1976 hat die Fluggesellschaft mit der Auslieferung der damals neuen A300B2 nicht weniger als zehn verschiedene Airbus-Modelle übernommen. Mit Blick auf die Zukunft plant Lufthansa, ihre Partnerschaft fortzusetzen und bis zum Jahr 2026 über 100 weitere Airbus-Flugzeuge zu erwerben und dann die Zahl von 700 Auslieferungen zu übertreffen.
