Eine der größten Betreiber-Gesellschaften der DC-10 mit zeitweise bis zu 46 Exemplaren war die US-amerikanische Northwest Orient Airlines. Die ersten Exemplare des Dreistrahlers wurden 1972 eingeflottet und die letzte erst im Jahr 2007 außer Dienst gestellt. Das Modell erscheint in der Bemalung der 1970er und 1980er Jahre im Rahmen der limitierten Serie zum 50. Jubiläum der DC-10.
