Hobbytrain Rangierlok BR163 DB, rot/schwarz, Ep.IV

1934 orderte die Deutsche Reichsbahn bei AEG vier und bei BBC/Kraus Maffei drei C gekuppelte Loks. Die AEG Loks unterscheiden sich optisch von den BBC Maschinen durch die eckigen und flacheren Vorbauten, waren etwas langsamer aber hatten mit 725 kW mehr Leistung. Nach der Auslieferung waren die Loks in München und Stuttgart stationiert.

Bei der DB liefen die Loks in Augsburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, München und Stuttgart. 1960/61 wurden die Loks umfangreich modernisiert und erhielten Rangierbühnen und zusätzliche Fenster sowie den roten Anstrich der DB. Von 1976-79 wurden die ab 1968 in BR 163 umbenannten Loks ausgemustert. Als letzte Lok die Nr. 163 002. Als Museumsloks sind noch E63 01 und E63 02 erhalten.
