Der IHC 433 war bei seiner Einführung im Jahre 1975 durch IHC (International Harvester Company) das kleinste Modell der sogenannten IHC-A-Baureihe. Leistungsmäßig trat der Schlepper so die Nachfolge des IHC 383 an. Nach der Übernahme von IHC durch Case wurde der IHC 433 ab 1985 als Case IH 433 mit einem neuen Farbschema angeboten. Der 433er wurde wie sein Vorgänger in den Fabriken Neuss und St. Dizier (Frankreich) hergestellt. Nachdem die Produktion in Neuss im Frühjahr 1990 eingestellt wurde, wurde das Modell 433 noch bis März 1993 in Doncaster (England) weiter produziert, wobei sich die Typenbezeichnung auf Case-IH 440 änderte.
