Nicht umsonst erhielt der Mercedes-Benz 300 CE 6.0 AMG den Spitznamen „Hammer“. So umschrieb das Fachmagazin AutoBild dieses in lediglich 12 Exemplaren gebaute 4-sitzige Coupé auch mit den Eigenschaften… kantig, düster und unglaublich stark! So erreichte das auf der Mercedes-Benz Baureihe C124 basierende Coupé bereits 1988 eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 289 Stundenkilometern und auch der damalige Preis von 335.550 Mark war ein absoluter Spitzenwert.
